You sold your soul for the price of eggs

One thing I keep coming across is people supposedly referring to the price of eggs as a reason they voted for Trump. My initial thought was They sold their soul for cheap eggs? No, not eggs specifically. It came down to money. They thought that money was more important than people. They thought that money was more important than common decency. Worst, they believed the empty promises and numerous lies from that charlatan.

They thought tariffs were an answer when his last tariffs utterly failed and cost the US Billions of dollars. Further, Trump's tariffs meant the US paid American farmers billions of dollars in subsidies for their losses. His first term economic policies significantly increased the federal budget deficits and the national debt. Trump destroyed a healthy economy he inherited from Obama. He had the worst jobs numbers in modern history and it wasn't just the pandemic to blame. Donald Trump Built a National Debt So Big (Even Before the Pandemic) That It’ll Weigh Down the Economy for Years.

So the next time someone asks at what point do you become a sell-out, will it be for a dozen eggs?
