I think that AI is terrible, terrible for the environment certainly without question: the water used, the energy required, the overconsumption of resources, the damage to the immediate ecosystems, the noise pollution. Toss in the displaced workforce to seal our fate.

Terrible because AI can present an argument without merit in language which may present as lucid, even academic in structure, perhaps with quotes. But look closer and the arguments are flawed and the data is faked or misrepresented. The information gleaned to provide the AI a story is stolen from the labors of the human mind.

But I think that AI is beyond terrible. AI is pure evil because it is a continuum of a lazy mindset that has been building for decades. TL;DR. FOMO. Shorthand for everything. Information reduced to a blurb, 120 characters, a tweet, SMS, emoji speak. No time to delve deeper, just a cursory glance to stay current. Fast info. Fast food. Fast fashion. Fast analysis. Fast conclusions. Fast decisions. Fast commitment. Fast to fall into traps of manipulation. An online environment shaped to shape you and your opinions, catering to your whims, your prejudices, your laziness.

And along comes AI to make a video, a film, a news story. AI creates the content from the theft of ideas, a multitude of ideas, human ideas, right, wrong, parsed, fact checked or mere fantasies, speculation, and paranoia. A mad lib gone insane.

AI generates content as musical, artistic, written as prose or poetry. All gleaned, all stolen from human labor, human ideas, human imagination, humans. AI creates actors and models doing human things to appeal to your human nature.

Worse, you imagine it. Conceive it. And that is where it ends. A kernel of creativity, an idea never blossoming. Instead, you feed AI a few prompts and parameters and out pops a machine's results, not human talent or ingenuity. A machine's poop to be scooped up by its human. Talentless fools think themselves creators, creative, yet lacking any real ability beyond what they feed a machine which diminishes humanity, our achievements and creativity. 

AI does not build upon human achievement, it usurps the mental prowess, the mental stimulation, the brain's very connections to make new connections. 

But this is TL;DR and the FOMO is fast encroaching. Why parse this information when Claude and Grok and AI slop can think for humans and everything becomes fAIk?
