Old Wilf

I always thought old Wilf should have been made a proper companion. When the series introduced Donna, I hated her, HATED. In no time flat, I really began to like Donna and her cheeky attitude and big mouth. I loved her interplay with The Doctor. I really appreciated the no romantic entanglements angle. When she became Doctor Donna and was returned home to Wilf and her mum, I cried my eyes out at her loss because it really was a death in all the important ways. The doctor really did make Donna a better person. By extension, I think Wilf made The Doctor a better person too.
Every time Wilf appeared I wanted him to be grabbed up and taken with The Doctor permanently. I wanted him to grow old and die among the stars seeing something no human had ever witnessed. Tennant's departure was made all the sweeter and painful with Wilf's role.
