Our Rec Room

We have a rec room of sorts owing to an unused fifth bedroom. We finally got a rug for the room after 15 years of just carpeting. Goodwill had the senior discount of 25% so I got the rug for less than $20. Lance brought over an old table from the studio. I cleaned, sanded, and restained it. My Dad made this table from scrap 2x4s way back in the 70s, so it's seen a lot of use. He also made the entertainment center. Yes, those are albums down below with the original dividers. The center was made to fit his reel to reel system and stereo system. This was also made in the 1970s. Even the glass on the doors is original. It's been our entertainment system for close to 20 years now. Dad improved his entertainment options and had to build new stuff to accommodate the upgrades. We're still happy with our 32 inch flat screen TV and the games consoles and DVD/VCR fit beautifully in the cabinet. Our stereo systems are elsewhere, but the surround sound speakers and DVD do just fine if we want to listen to music in the rec room.
