Simple Sesame Lo Mein
Lo Mein noodles are impossible to find locally so I opted to make spaghetti noodles for this recipe.
I sauteed 8 oz of sliced mushrooms with a chopped little green onion (white and green parts).
While the mushrooms were cooking down to a lovely brown color, I made a
Simple Sesame Sauce
Heat 1 TBSP white sesame seeds in a skillet to toast lightly. Use no oil. Remove from heat.
Add to the skillet with the sesame seeds the following:
1 TBSP Sesame Oil
2 TBSP Premium Aged Soy Sauce
2 TBSP Chili Oil
1/2 TSP Ginger Paste
1+1/2 TSP Rice Vinegar
4 chopped little green onions (White and green parts)
Heat until well infused - about 5 minutes
Turn off the heat.
I made about two servings of pasta noodles according to the box directions.
After the mushrooms were nicely browned and withering, I added fresh broccoli florets and a bit of water to deglaze the pan. I then added a large spoonful of the sesame oil sauce to the mushroom broccoli mix and cooked it just enough to soften the broccoli and cook off the liquid.
I added the veg to the noodles then poured the sesame oil mix over it all. Then I transferred everything back to the skillet to get all the tastiness and heated for about a minute before serving.
