As we sat in the library solving our daily crossword, Lance noticed the way the light played on the lamp. Sunlight filtered through the reed blinds and the window mullions creating an array of lines to compliment the linear design of this simple desk lamp. Thanks to the artistic eye of Lance and inspired by Warren Simmons' photographs, I followed Lance's lead and captured the moment before the light was lost.

Late last year I discovered Warren Simmons' photographs through Lucie Langford Canfield's Instagram account. When I found his series, Concrete Landscapes, I immediately thought of my photos through the years in my Wabi Sabi Series. His eye for light has added a new direction in my attempts as a hobbyist photographer.
