...And Justice for none

“Officers have arrested a 72-year-old man on suspicion of misconduct in public office.”

In the UK, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, and today, former Ambassador Peter Mandelson have been arrested for misconduct in public office.

I am reminded of the arrest of Bernie Madoff, the financial advisor whose Ponzi scheme robbed a bloat of greedy bastards. His arrest came amid a flood of banking and investment misconduct which threatened to bring down investment firms and big banks. No one other than Madoff faced jail time because he dared to rob the wealthy.

Instead, the governments stepped in to shore up some of these failing and faltering institutions with taxpayer dollars citing these businesses were too big to fail. Worse, nothing really changed with laws which would prevent similar misconduct, mismanagement, and blatant money grabs from recurring.

The everyday homeowners caught up in the subprime mortgage crisis lost their homes. The banks whose mortgage backed securities helped create the bubble walked away and the bank investors were made whole. The bankers either kept their jobs or retired with their golden parachutes intact. Not a one of investment bankers had the decency to jump from a high window.

Only the wealthy who lost money to Madoff saw any measure of justice. Over 94% saw their losses covered. The rich got richer and the poor were trodden underfoot, their bones becoming the gravel to keep the mud off the banker's breeches.

And so today we see a similar pattern emerge. A slew of emails reveal all manner of crimes, human trafficking, rape and pedophilia topping the list. But instead of justice being sought, despite photographs and written confessions in boastful emails, the pedos are not being brought to trial for their acts against women and children. No, the only justice seems to be on behalf of government for "misconduct in office."

Here in the US there is ZERO justice. No charges have been brought. A few people have resigned some positions. But their fates will mirror that of bad policemen who merely move from job to job.

No one will stand before a jury and not one pedo will serve time. Just a lot of cover ups and men hiding behind their money bags and lawyers. No justice for anyone really. The next crisis will come and go and the rich will get richer, women will continue to be ignored, and the poor will continue to be shit upon. Same shit, different day.
