Trump's Tornado of Piffle

Trump’s Armageddon-Taco shuffle by Edward Luce

One minute he threatens death and destruction, the next he says the US and Iran are engaged in negotiations.

When discussing Trump's War Against Iran, Financial Times' journalist Edward Luce referred to Donald Trump’s never ending, unintelligible, short sighted blathering as a "Tornado of Piffle".

Piffle is one of those all encompassing words which includes many descriptors: nonsense, rubbish, silly talk, unimportant chatter, mumbling, whining, garbage, twaddle, and drivel. This single word may prove the best word to cover Trump's speech pattern.

Luce's choice of tornado to describe the word-salad attack against the English language and our grasp for sanity amid Trump's tantrums is apt and timely. Tornado season is upon us in the Southern US. Anyone witnessing the destruction a tornado can attest to the unimaginable damage wrought by these storms.

Tornados occur in differing degrees of severity but all have some things in common. The blustery winds intensify in scale. Often unrelenting rain, lightning strikes and thunder pound down. And things are tossed about as buildings are damaged and destroyed. The aftermath includes items impaled as the smallest things become projectiles when moving at extreme speeds.

So too are the impacts of Trump's speeches and (in)action(s). His bluster and bravado increases in relation to his ignorance and his bruised or challenged ego. A shit storm is usually in the offing. Institutions and peoples' lives, jobs, healthcare, and even family food pantries are destroyed. And like a tornado's winds which hurl random things everywhere, affecting everything in its path, Trump's (in)action(s) always have/has surprising consequences.

The man who railed against gas price hikes calling for removal of past Presidents ignores the chaos he causes in the petroleum market. Markets slide, roller coaster, and teeter on the edge as retirement pensions for millions are affected. In Europe the response has been ironic for a man seeking to buy a wind farm's closure with a billion dollars. Germany had announced a major shift to renewable energy. And other members of the world community are seeking ways to lessen the impact of limited petroleum supplies.

America is becoming more isolated every day and is now regarded as a pariah state due to Trump's crass demeanor and idiocy. The dementia addled fool in the White House is dragging America into oblivion and destruction. During Trump 1.0 even North Korean leader Kim Jong Un labelled Trump as a "dotard", a senile fool with an impaired intellect. It looks like the damned idiot intends to drag us all into the grave with him.
